I thought I'd start out with the big fat birds I saw while walking through the Auckland Domain. Couldn't resist! Most of this month's pictures are the scenes of Auckland that I encounter often, in order to give you a taste of what I'm experiencing! |

I've made it a routine to go running and walking along the beach, starting from Mission Bay all the way to St. Helier's Bay and back every weekend. This is a picture of Achilles point (a fantastic lookout point) where you can walk to from St. Helier's Bay, from which this shot was taken. |
During the whole stretch you can see Rangitoto Island. They actually have night kayak tours that take you from Auckland to the top Rangitoto (where there are caves and whatnot- it's an old volcano) by moonlight and back. I hope I get to do it sometime. |

A shot of the Sky Tower from St. Helier's Bay. |
Achilles point: This is looking off the other side. Way out in the distance you can see the Coromondal Peninsula! |
Achilles point: A good shot of the Sky Tower through the trees. |
Achilles point: Ahh, how romantic. No, I don't know them, but it made for a good shot. Heh... |
Achilles point: This is looking back at St. Helier's Bay, the other bays and beyond. |
Achilles point: A look back at One Tree Hill and Auckland. |

No, it's not Pick'n Save. This is where I go food shopping! This particular chain of superkmarket's (of which there are a variety, just like in the US), doesn't bag food in order that they might keep prices as low as possible. If you wan't a bag- you pay 30 cents! This is a nice way to conserve, I feel. |

My flatmates- from left to right, Diane, Cliff, and Craig. |
Cornwall Park: Good 'ol One Tree Hill in Cornwall Park. This is a great place to take walks. |
Cornwall Park: There are sheep... |
Cornwall Park: signs to give you a bit of history... |
Cornwall Park: From the top... at the center of this photo is my street! It's located right behind the Ellerslie Racecourse (yes! we can hear the faint murmmerings of the announcer along with the ol' rodeo music on Saturday mornings.) |
Cornwall Park: Looking north from the top of One Tree Hill... |
Cornwall Park: ...south |
Cornwall Park: ...east. |
Cornwall Park: and west. |
Cornwall Park: Some flavour (i.e. other people are in the park too!) |
Cornwall Park: There's the observatory through the trees. |
Cornwall Park: And a full picture of the observatory. |

My fav shot of the month! Here I sit, (yes, those are my legs) in Albert Park right across the street from the University (you can see it through the palm trees) with my read for the month- Watership Down, and what? what? Diet Coke baby. ;o) |
The Sky Tower from Albert Park- here it's only a few streets away! |
My room! |
My flat! |
My street! My flat's toward the bottom left. Well, you saw where I lived from One Tree Hill, now here's One Tree Hill from where I live. (Pretty snazzy, eh?) |
